We are called to thrive and succeed. Jesus said and I quote “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly“(John:10:10). This clearly states that God is not in the business of killing you, stealing from you nor destroying you. He is interested in you having an abundant life. Psalms 139:13 says For you formed my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. God was concerned about you right from the beginning. Jeremiah 29:11; For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Not only did God the creator of heaven and earth form our inward parts but He also created us in His own image and likeness. He gives us a great start which unfortunately is marred by our sinful nature inherited from Adam. After God gave us His likeness, He gave us dominion over the earth. He gave us something to do, so dispel the thought that your life has no meaning and no purpose. And at salvation we are presented with an awesome opportunity to become more like Jesus. At salvation we become a new creature and the Holy Spirit indwells us continuously sanctifying us.
After forming you in your mother’s womb God goes on to create plans for you life, a roadmap for your success. He declares that these plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. In addition they give you hope and a future. So let me speak for myself, I highly respect the plans that the God who created the beautiful universe has for my life. I am convinced that His wisdom and knowledge surpasses that of anyone on earth. And surely as He created me and knows the purpose for which He created me He is the best and only person to trust with the blueprint for my life.
I have come that they may have life and they may have it more adundantly. Indeed powerful words by the Lord Jesus. To really appreciate the meaning of the word abundant. Let’s look at similar words which are plentiful, copious ample, profuse, rich lavish, liberal and generous. If your life does not reflect this then you need to examine the relationship with your Saviour. Because Jesus came, sin and death no longer have a hold over us if we choose to believe. In Him we have eternal life and a restored relationship with our Heavenly Father. So as a believer be confident that you are equipped to thrive and succeed.
