What is the end times mindset? First what is a mindset? A mindset is a habitual or characteristic mental attitude that determines how you will interpret and respond to situations. In the Bible Colossians 3:2 describes the mindset that believers should have perfectly. Paul kept it simple. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. My attitude or mindset on end times was I dont think I want to be here. This was exacerbated by studying Revelations and the thought that I will have to witness these things come to pass fills me with terror. Thankfully we have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.
So having established that fear or terror is not the mindset of a believer, I now needed to determine what my attitude should be. Acceptance is key, so I have found myself in the end times, what should I do first? I love lists and I love having a plan. I believe a list and a plan keeps me focused and grounded and I get a lot of encouragement ticking my to do list! First thing to ascertain is now that I found myself in this timeline do I qualify to be on God’s team. It was a green tick because as a believer I have been sealed and I have eternal life.
Next on the list is prayer, lots of it. Need to pray for wisdom on whom to tell and how to package it. Because I would not want anyone and especially my loved ones to fail to make the cut. The prize and reward is eternal life and the destination is heaven. Sometimes the hardest person to lead to Christ is someone in your family or your inner circle. Reason being they see you in all the spaces of your life. Your family knows all your different sides including your weaknesses and the vices you yourself have been unable to shake.
But take courage, you are not the one who died on the cross for them. So encourage them not to take you as the standard. You are also a work in progress and please remind yourself of that fact lest pride leads you down the path of the Pharisees. After you pray you will need to tell people the good news, that Jesus came down from heaven and took upon Himself the sins of humanity so that we would be free from sin and have His righteousness in exchange.
