What is so Amazing about Christmas? At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. A major milestone in the redemption plan of God our heavenly Father and creator! I am amazed at how patient God is, that at the fall of mankind a meeting was called and operation “Redeem Mankind” was set in place which had many moving parts including the prophecies that needed to be uttered, connections between humans that needed to be made to ensure and preserve the bloodline of Jesus right down to a census being called by Caesar Augustus.
I am amazed by God’s love that when the human race according to Genesis had become so wicked and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. Then God managed to save and preserve a remnant that was Noah and his family. God called out Abram from the land of his fathers, he blessed him and made him into a nation. He delivered the Israelites from Egypt and brought them to the promised land.
I am not an events planner but I can only imagine the amount of resources that went into planning the birth of Jesus. The sheer number of personnel it took, the time spent planning, revising the plan, exciting the plan and delivering on the promises associated with the birth of our Lord. I admit I am incapable of doing the math and calculating the cost involved. I am content to think that it is a wonderful mystery! At the birth of Jesus Angels appeared to shepherds and announced his birth and proclaimed the good news! That a Saviour had been born, and this news will cause great joy and now peace had come on earth!
As I prepare for the end of year I can truthfully say that my expectations, hopes and dreams for the year changed the day my dear husband passed away. In the same breath I can say that were it not for Jesus I would not have withstood the storm. My plan for this Christmas season right up to the end of the year is to meditate and focus on what the song Healer by Casting Crown says. “We need the healer. We don’t need another hero. We need the healer. Deep down every hurting heart knows. We need the healer. And only Jesus is the healer (You’re the healer). More than comfort we need the king. More than gifts, we need the giver. More than blessings we need Your presence. More than the healing, we need the healer. More than comfort we need the king.”
My wish and prayer is as I reflect on the birth of Christ and subsequent redemption of mankind, I will experience His presence, love and healing power because my desire is to be whole, healed and free. Thank you for the support you have all given me this year by subscribing, liking, commenting and sharing my blogs. Thank for the prayers and well-wishers. I pray in the name of Jesus that my heavenly Father will bless you for the kindness you have shown me and reward you for all your efforts!
