Overcome disbelief, believe in God’s grace. It sounds like a mouthful! What I have come to learn is that God’s grace goes hand in hand with His love. If you believe God loves you then you must also believe that He is gracious to you. Because of His grace mankind can obtain salvation. His grace provides strength and can be called upon in our time of need. I struggle with truly believing that God loves me to the extent that He lovingly looks out for me. That His posture towards me is one of provision, protection regardless of how big my sins are.
Salvation incase you have not heard it before is a free gift. Salvation works on the principle of substitution. Jesus died on the cross in our place to atone for the sin of all mankind. He died to save us from sin and death. We became beneficiaries of an abundant life. This means at the least we should have the peace that surpasses all understanding. We should have joy which is the Lord’s strength. It should be evident from the way we live that we are loved by the one true God. And this love should abound to our family members, neighbours and even trickle down to our enemies.
Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 testifies that “For when I am weak then I am strong.’ This sentence would not make sense if we did not take into account the power of Christ. Jesus comes alongside us to support us and carry us. Circumstances and challenges designed to overwhelm us or to take us out come to nought when faced with the awesome power of the one called Christ. Jesus is interested in our everyday plights and He has a plan not only because He is omniscient. But because He lovingly set out a plan for our lives from the day He created us.

Grace provides
According to 1 John 4:8 God is love and so we never have to wonder about His motivation. God is our creator but while Jesus was on earth He taught us to think and call on God as our Father. In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus identified that we can expect God to provide for our needs not when the whim strikes Him, not annually, not weekly but on a daily basis. In addition He forgives us our sins and He protects us from all evil. However we have a part to play and that is to ask Him. Matthew 7:7 says ask and you will receive, we need to get into the habit of asking. Asking does not have to be curated, there is no prescribed way to ask. As Nike says Just do it!

This book is a heartwarming, contemporary love story between a man and a woman contemplating a life together.
