A simple prayer is the distance between you and God. Prayer will take you where you need to go. God comes near to His people is a theme that runs through the bible. An example is Jeremiah 29 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek with all your heart. This sounds like a promise and God who is omnipresent is nearer than we think. On top of being omnipresent God is omniscient which means He also knows before hand what is going to happen. So at the time you call on His name you will find that He is already there and has already being waiting for you. Do yourself a favour and show up!

Prayer closes the distance

What separates us from God? Sin is the usual and only culprit. Sin is rebellion against God. Rebellion is when we choose to do what we want instead of what God would have us do. This could be as a result of ignorance or defiance, we assume we know better. Actually prayer closes the distance by removing the barrier of sin. The prayer of salvation will be the most important prayer you say in your life. It frees you from the kingdom of darkness and gives you the same righteousness as Jesus. It qualifies you to be a beneficiary of the awesome gifts, blessing and power that is offered in the kingdom of heaven.

Why does the distance close?

What causes the distance to disappear? The answer is the eternal love of God. He is the reason behind this grace and guarantor of newfound life. We are sinners and we can do nothing on our own to earn His righteousness. However Jesus came and God who is an unchanging God declared that He loved the world (not Christians). God declared in John 3:16 that He sent Jesus His one and only son to die on the cross for the whole world. This means everyone on earth is eligible. The only qualification is you are human and you are breathing!
