How significant is God’s word? God often assures us that all that we need that pertains to life and godliness is in getting to know Him. Knowing Him requires reading His word. We get to know Him by reading His word. It provides the answer to all our questions. This word is relevant and sufficient to meet our needs. What are our cares in this life, what do we spend time worrying about? What are the problems that we meditate on, the ones we wished we did not have? God says in His word there is provision, He has met our every need, He has dealt with every concern. The real question is do you believe Him, do you believe His word? At His word there is healing, deliverance and provision.
In the world today we suffer from all kinds of diseases and illneses. The majority of these are called lifestyle diseases. Evidently caused by stress, a sedentary life, alcohol & substance abuse, toxins in our environment and poor dietary choices. A significant story about healing that stood out in the bible is the story about a centurion who sought out Jesus to ask for healing of his servant. Then the centurion said such a powerful statement that even Jesus admitted that He was impressed. Because the centurion replied, Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word and my servant will be healed. And Jesus said that he had not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
God’s word is significant enough to overcome temptation, it can be your means of deliverance. For example when Jesus was being tempted in the desert by Satan, He used the word to silence the enemy not once but three times. Jesus said the word was more significant than bread (the food that we eat). The amazing thing about Jesus quoting scripture is that the power is not contained in how the sentence or the words were structured. But the power is contained in who the backing authority is. And this authority is so powerful that Satan backed down not once but thrice.
There are a number of verses in scripture that are provision focused. And I have chosen three of my favourites. My all time favourite is Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. Second is Matthew 6:25-26 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away…..Are you not much more valuable than they? Third is Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. So I encourage you this week to put the word of God to work in every situation that you may face!

Welcome back Anna. It’s good to be reading your blog posts once more. We do tend to focus more on our problems and not the solution to our problems . Our Lord Jesus Christ is the word made flesh. Whenever we are in doubt let us turn to the Lord.
Thank you for the word Anna.
