Loved by God is a truth and not a suggestion. God has said of Himself that He is love and that He loves the whole world. Indeed a bold statement from the creator of heaven and earth. I believe one of the most quoted verses in the bible is John 3:16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever would believe should not perish but have everlasting life. I also believe it is the most misquoted verse because as Christians we tend to put more emphasis on the latter part of the verse and yet the first part is just as important. God loves the world, God loves the world so much that He gave us not less than His son, Jesus Christ.
When you know someone loves you, he or she becomes approachable in your eyes. God is approachable, He is waiting on the people He loves to call unto Him. Living in sin that causes suffering is not His divine plan for you. He is not up there in heaven rubbing His hands gleefully when you sin so that He can come down hard on you and show you how unrighteous you are. He takes no pleasure in inflicting punishment or pain but do not be fooled He hates sin more. Like the prodigal father God has his hands wide open and He is running towards you. Do the right thing and receive His love.
God determined way before we were born that mankind was worth saving and so He set in place a plan to rescue all humanity. He had a good plan as the only way to defeat sin and death is by paying the ransom demanded. He sent His son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. God couldn’t pretend that sin was not in the world, He couldn’t ignore man’s rebellion. He provided a way out, He sent Jesus, the way, the truth and the life. That in Jesus we would find redemption, forgiveness of our sins and all the precious benefits attached to salvation.
All God requires of us is to believe the fantastic, far fetched story that Jesus died on the cross and by His blood we are made right with God. This is where faith comes in, the bible says “faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” Hebrews 11:1. Your journey of relationship with God gets amplified by accepting the free gift of salvation.
