December 20, 2022Is hearing from God pure chance of fact? Having come from feeling that hearing from God is pure chance I can now say with confidence that it is a kingdom reality. Hearing from God starts with the desire, you have to want to hear from HIm. This will lead you to seek him and His promise is when you seek Him you will find Him. As a believer the promise is that Jesus lives on the inside of you and so you don’t have far to go in seeking Him. What I tended to underestimate in the beginning of my faith journey is the power of His word in my current life and circumstances. Gone are the days I used to think that the Bible was not relevant to today and it needed to be updated.
Obedience is the right attitude
After you seek Him, you have to be willing to listen to Him and this means having an attitude of obedience because the truth is what you hear might not fit in with your current lifestyle of mindset. You should be willing to be lead by the Spirit. And you should be prepared for change, to lay down your thoughts and beliefs and align to His teachings and commands. This is hard to do especially if you have had your wrong thinking or mindset for a while. And if you believe that you are right all the time you will struggle to hear God.
Perseverance is the key
Perseverance will be the key to holding on to your ability to hear God. Seeking God is not a nice straight line. There are going to be mountains, valleys, storms, rivers, deserts to go through. But the journey is well worth the effort. As you persevere in seeking Him, not only will the clarity in hearing Him improve. But also the victories in your life will become testimonies to share with other people. I love to read the stories of people in the bible who triumphed against all odds, don’t you? These stories encourage, inspire and uplift me!
Why is it important?
I think it is important to hear from God because He has the blueprint of your life. He created you, He chose where you would be born, where you would live. The Creator determined what gifts, talents and abilities you would have. God knows what is in store for you in your life. He knows beforehand the triumphs and failures you will undergo. God knows where He has hidden the treasures and opportunities for change that will affect your life for the better. He determined and designed your destiny

Thank you for sharing once again. This is a very interesting topic. Hearing God is something that most Christians struggle with, for me I would say that surrendering everything to God is the step to allowing myself to be led by the Holy Spirit. The human effort often tends to interfere from time to time because sometimes what the Holy Spirit is telling you is not aligning with what you “think” is the right thing to do, but just knowing that he has the original blueprint for my life should be enough for me to know that he has my back. Thank you Anna for the important reminder of the interesting stories in the Bible that show us how much the people relied on God. God bless you, Anna!
