Restoration, an extravagant gift from God. To restore means to bring back a situation or feeling that existed before or to bring someone or something back to a former condition, place or position. Restoration is one of the most extravagant gifts that we obtain from our heavenly Father. When we trust the Lord and put our faith in Him our situations and conditions change to the point that we tend to forget how bad it was in the beginning. At salvation the first thing that is restored to you is right relationship with God that had been destroyed by sin. Because of Jesus you now stand holy and blameless in the sight of God. He looks on you as one created in the image of Himself and His Son. You can now approach the throne of mercy and grace with confidence.
Health is something I tend to take for granted till I am ill. There is nothing good nor positive about being sick and I am so glad The Lord declares, I will restore health to you and your wounds I will heal. Jesus healed many disease and sicknesses, our Saviour did not put up with sickness neither should we. One sure benefit of health and healing is peace and security . I have need for peace and security. I have noticed that your prayers are different when you are at peace and are secure. This is not because your problems have disappeared but because you now have the luxury to trust the person in whom you have believed in.
In my current season of loss, joy is not high on the list of priorities. In fact it would be more gratifying to my flesh to wallow in self pity and the pit of despair. But the Spirit of God is not letting me off easy. Because He knows and He wants me to appreciate that His mercies are new every morning. I automatically have joy when I wake up, it is a gift of the Spirit. It lasts till I remember what I am going through. I have learnt to push past the grief and hold on to the joy. As you can imagine I am hanging on for dear life unto the verse ‘weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning‘.
God has declared in His word that He has plans to prosper us. Jesus said that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy and that He has come that we may have life. So reasonably we can conclude that it is not Jesus nor God that steals from us, nor does He kill our potential and neither does He destroy what we have. However, when something has gone terrible wrong God restores what has been taken. In Job’s case God not only restored but He gave Job twice as much. This week my suggestion to you is ask God to restore what has been stolen, destroyed or killed. Your loving Father is only waiting for you to ask, the bible says we have not because we ask not!

Thanks Anna for the reminder that restoration came with Jesus and that I stand blameless in the sight of God.
Every paragraph is so inspiring. God bless.
“……………ask God to restore what has been stolen, destroyed or killed”. Thank you for this reminder. sometimes that is all we need as we face various challenges that make us almost loose hope..
